MBIC Sponsors Wine and Food Festival

Posted by: Alane Lidolph on July 7, 2008

MBIC was recently involved in the inaugural Inside Columbia Magazine Wine and Food Festival, where more than 2,500 individuals were treated to extraordinary cuisine and exceptional wines during the five-day event. The festival included events such as wine dinners, food and wine seminars, and a progressive dinner, each designed for wine and food aficionados and amateurs alike.

The individuals that attended the Food and Wine Festival are perfect examples of the food involved group that check-off funded programs are targeting. This event was a great way to showcase beef in a variety of ways, and garner excitement among the crowd to prepare beef while cooking and entertaining at home.

As a result of MBIC’s check-off funded sponsorship, many of the festival events featured delicious beef dishes prepared by Columbia’s top chefs. In addition, MBIC had a booth at the festival “Grand Tasting,” where guests could indulge their taste buds in sampling various culinary creations and wines from over 130 wineries. MBIC’s booth featured beef appetizers, one of which was Grilled Beef Bruschetta with Feta Cheese, a recipe from the check-off funded Healthy Beef Cookbook.

The Inside Columbia Magazine Food and Wine Festival is one of many MBIC promotions targeting food and health involved consumers. To learn more about these sponsorships funded by the $1 per head beef checkoff program, contact us!
